Fun-filled water focus set for family festival

  • UK’s largest water-only supplier announces major partnership with Rickmansworth Festival
  • Super-size bath set to inspire water saving behaviour & major comedian set to be unveiled as headliner at Affinity Water comedy stage
  • Festival goers have the chance to win VIP tickets to the Affinity Water comedy stage by signing up to the ‘Save our Streams’ water saving campaign

Affinity Water, the UK’s largest water-only supplier, is proudly announcing its Platinum partnership with the Rickmansworth Festival.

The much-loved festival is returning on the 21st and 22nd May after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 and will feature a super-sized bath tub and exclusive comedy tent, hosted by headline sponsors Affinity Water.

The collaboration is part of Affinity Water’s milestone water-saving movement: ‘SOS: Save Our Streams,’ which has been coined the UK’s biggest ever water-saving initiative with over 200,000 sign-ups to date. One billion litres of water are proven to have been saved last summer thanks to Affinity Water’s pioneering approach, which empowers people to help protect England’s precious chalk streams by wasting less water in their homes.

Now, Affinity Water wants to further this impact, encouraging more people to sign up the campaign at SaveOurStreams.co.uk where they can gain access to their exact household water usage stats, a free water-saving kit and tailored advice.

As an added incentive, anyone who signs up to the campaign by Friday May 6th will have the chance to win a VIP ticket for the Affinity Water comedy tent.

The comedy line-up, curated by Affinity Water, will featuring popular local talent and a very special mystery celebrity headline act that will be revealed on the Saturday.

Set to be a major visitor attraction, ‘Tubitha’ the touring bathtub, which is 125 times the size of a normal bath and with a fully functioning tap, will also take centre stage at the festival. Visitors will be invited to have a selfie inside the bath tub and speak to Affinity Water about water saving advice.

Gillian Watt, SOS Project Lead said:

“We’re extremely excited about our partnership with the Rickmansworth Festival. Taking such a central role in the event, with ‘Tubitha’ on display and hosting our fantastic comedy line-up, will give us a whole new audience to speak with about our pioneering SOS Campaign.

“We know that people really do care about the impact their behaviour has on the environment. Our campaign highlights the danger facing our country’s precious chalk streams and we’re extremely proud of the response of our communities as a result, and the water saving we have achieved so far.

“There’s so much more we want to do, so we’re really looking forward to chatting with families at the festival about the way they use water at home.

“With a fantastic opportunity to win some VIP tickets for our exclusive comedy show, now is the perfect chance to sign up to our SOS campaign. It’s a win-win – anyone who signs up will receive tailored advice on how to save water in their home, reducing their bills and helping us save our country’s endangered chalk streams, whilst also having the chance to win an exclusive comedy show experience.”

David Montague, Rickmansworth Festival Director said:

“I am delighted to welcome Affinity Water as Platinum Sponsors of the Rickmansworth Festival. We hope our thousands of visitors can really get behind the essential environmental message of the Save our Streams campaign. It’s incredible that thanks to the support and involvement of the public, Affinity Water has managed to reduce water use so significantly. I hope our festival goers can join this movement and help us all make a difference to the UK’s rare water sources.”

Members of the public are urged to continue taking action and visit SaveOurStreams.co.uk where after answering a few questions about how they use water, can gain access to their exact household water usage stats, a free water-saving kit and tailored advice. Anyone signing up to the campaign before Friday 6th May 2022 will be entered into the competition to win VIP comedy show tickets.
