The Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) is the economic regulator of the water sector in England and Wales, regulating the prices paid by customers for the services they receive and ensuring that water companies provide appropriate levels of service and maintain investment in water supply infrastructure. .
The Drinking Water Inspectorate provides independent reassurance that water supplies in England and Wales are safe and drinking water quality is acceptable to consumers. .
The Environment Agency regulates the amount of water taken from rivers and underground sources and the quality of the wastewater (from our treatment processes) returned to the environment. .
