Hertfordshire Boat Rescue gets a helping hand

 

Hertfordshire Boat Rescue, a charity based in Bishop Stortford has received a donation of £1,500 thanks to Affinity Water’s Community Engagement Programme.

 

Hertfordshire Boat Rescue is a charity organisation, which works closely with communities in Hertfordshire to provide water rescue and water safety education to prevent drownings.

 

With the money donated, Hertfordshire Boat Rescue has purchased water rescue equipment which includes; lifejackets and throw bags for children so they are able to learn how to save lives.

 

Stuart Foreman, Chairman at Hertfordshire Boat Rescue said: “Thanks to the funding from Affinity Water we have been able to purchase this much needed equipment which will help promote water safety and encourage youth members to take part.”

 

Beverly Taylor, Chair of the Community Review panel said: “We are pleased to have the chance to support Hertfordshire Boat Rescue. Affinity Water is a community-focused organisation serving local people and we want to be involved in projects which benefit the communities we serve.”

 

The next round of funding from Affinity Water’s Community Engagement Programme is now open and will close on 29 October 2018, Community groups and charities can now submit their applications for this round.

 

Applicants can request support for projects that will benefit the local community, the environment, or make life better for the disadvantaged.
