Free family fun at February half-term

If you're short of things to do with the children or grandchildren during half term, make sure you've checked school bags and got your copy of Green Gang.

The newsletter and events programme, produced by White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (WCCP), promotes water conservation and the local natural environment in the Dover and Shepway districts. Look out for free and fun water-themed events to raise awareness of local chalk streams and water savings, including the family favourite, Pop-up River Lab, run by WCCP and Affinity Water.

Beverley Taylor, Chair of Affinity Water’s Community Engagement Panel, said: “Affinity Water is always looking at ways we can support our local communities and Green Gang is a really fun example. It's a great way to engage with primary school children and families on water conservation. I particularly love the Pop-up River Lab where children get to have a go at river dipping to catch some freshwater shrimps or little fish. They can take part in experiments and hear all about the water cycle and water saving. The best thing is it's free, and nets are supplied too - you just need wellies and waterproofs. It's great fun!”

Green Gang, sponsored by Affinity Water since January 2018, celebrated its 25th year anniversary last year and is run by the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership – a long term strategic partner for Affinity Water in the local community.
